The ASUS ROG SWIFT PG279Q 27 inch IPS 165Hz G-SYNC gaming monitor is touted as the best gaming monitor currently on the market. While there are 4K gaming monitors currently on the market they all suffer from being restricted to 60Hz refresh rate which is not good for gaming. Also, most current generation graphics cards will struggle to achieve 60 FPS in 4K resolution. Therefore this monitor is the best option for gamers that money can buy as it has one of the fastest refresh rates available at 165Hz, making it great for First Person Shooter (FPS) games. The 1440p native resolution on this monitor gives you finer details and is a welcome upgrade coming from 1080p resolution. The IPS panel on this monitor gives you much better viewing angles and the color just pops a lot better than older TN based panels on older gaming monitors. While IPS panels do have their issues such as IPS backlight bleed, it won’t be a problem for most people unless you are really really picky. Either way its better than TN panel technology in almost everything except for the blacklight bleed issue which most people won’t even notice. Pairing this G-SYNC monitor with a compatible NVIDIA graphics cards ensures buttery smooth gaming with no stutter or tearing while playing. There is one major drawback of course, and that is the price at $750+ it is a very expensive monitor. Only you can decide if this is the monitor for you, but if you are looking for the absolute best gaming monitor that money can buy…this is it!
